Comparative overview of the number of dwellings

The comparative overview of the number of dwellings for permanent habitation contains data of census conducted over 1971–2022. Dwellings for permanent habitation include occupied dwellings, temporarily unoccupied and abandoned dwellings.

The comparative overview of the total number of dwellings contains the total number of enumerated dwellings according to census results (2002, 2011 and 2022). In besides the dwellings for permanent habitation, the total number of enumerated dwellings contain also dwellings used occasionally for vacation and recreation or for performing seasonal agricultural works, as well dwellings used exclusively for performing an activity.

Data on dwellings for permanent habitation by 1971 and 1981 censuses refer to the whole territory of the Republic of Serbia, while 1991, 2002, 2011 and 2022 do not contain data for the AP Kosovo and Metohija. Namely, the 1991 Census was boycotted by the majority of the Albanian population, while in 2002, 2011 and 2022 there were no conditions to conduct the census on the territory of the southern Serbian province. In the 2011 Census the coverage of the enumeration units was smaller in the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac due to the boycott of the census by the majority of the Albanian members of the ethnic community, thus for these municipalities presented are only the data on the enumerated dwellings for permanent habitation and total number of dwellings in the municipality.
